Whag starts Craft Week with Craft Fair

The William Humphreys Art Gallery (Whag) is starting its Craft Week with a Craft Fair on Saturday 29 November.

The Whag is calling on crafters to exhibit their Christmas crafts at this fair which will start at 09:00 and last until approximately 15:00.

Crafters who are interested in exhibiting, can call Rika on 053-831-1724. Those interested in learning how to make their own Christmas gifts and cards, will get the opportunity during the Craft Week. On Tuesday 2 December from 09:00 to 12:00, the group will decorate planters at R10 per planter. These can be used as containers to put gifts in or to plant something in.

On the Wednesday 3 December from 09:00 to 12:00, those who are interested in the finer things in life, will make charm bracelets at R30 per person. On the Thursday 4 December starting at 09:00, gallery staff will host a Christmas Craft Day at R40 per person. Those participating are invited to bring along a picnic basket for lunch in the garden, while they make gift tags, ethnic Christmas decorations and gift bags. On the final day of the craft week, Friday 5 December, crafters will from 09:00 be given the opportunity to add the finishing touches to their products and fetch their planters. On Friday 12 December, the Whag will be showing an animation film free of charge, Booking for all these workshops is essential.
